Untitled
Painting by Kateryna Kopeikina
80 x 100 cm • Acrylic oil on canvas
Location:
Kyiv, Ukraine
The protagonist in the center does not ask for sympathy - she asserts herself, her presence, her independence. Behind her is a mysterious male figure in a dark suit. His face is blurred, as a symbol of other people's views, stereotypes or a past that remains in the shadows. The gilded patterns in the background are reminiscent of a theater curtain, hinting at a stage - but this is not a play, but real life, where everyone acts in his or her own role.
